The Rolling Stock park
LOCON runs an important rolling stock park in locomotives and wagons. In order to assure its competitiveness and growth the company applies a diversified rolling stock strategy.
The business-units railway logistics and freight transportation require engines with different power demand. However it is desired that engines are interchangeable within the divisions in case of need.
The logistic department uses by preference the Diesel-engines of the model class V180, V 100, V60 and V22. LOCON has at this time (March 2011) 24 units in their stock (see here…).
LOCON operates at this time a number of E-engines of the model class 185 and 189 (March 2011).
In order to meet the demand of the transportation of all kind of goods, LOCON keeps a stock of 250 wagons of different types and models (see here…).
We are happy to inform our railway friends about our actual stock and the models in operation and invite them to visit our link. For reasons of fluctuations in the kind of stock of E-locomotives we are refraining from showing them in the link.

In addition LOCON operates the most powerful Diesel engine used in Europe at this time for their freight transportation, the Maxima CC40 (LOCON 401).
The long-distance transportation is operated by modern E-locomotives. Due to the specific conditions in the transportation business LOCON seeks to take advantage in the offers the market is giving, thus assuring a high level of flexibility to respond to demand and orders even at short notice.
