Bodybuilder on six axles –
LOCON puts into service its new Maxima 40 CC
Following a small ceremony at the Voith works in Kiel the two board members Harald von Ascheraden and Gunter Schulz took possession of a brand new Maxima 40 CC, thus adding to their engine park the world’s most powerful single-engine Diesel hydraulic locomotive.
This locomotive designed to pull heavy good transports, is in particular apt to execute cross-border transportation, an important asset seen the growing together of the European railway system. After receiving the appropriate country homologations LOCON will be in the position to undertake European transports into The Netherlands, Austria, Belgium and Poland without change of engine at the border.
The LOCON 401 with its 3600 kW will be employed initially in particular for their lime-marl transports and will extend their destinations according to the demand. Our ‘regular engine members’ welcome their new world-champion with respect and wish all the best for a safe operation.
Congratulations for the new acquisition!
